The Tax Collector is responsible for the billing and collection of all funds raised by taxation or assessed to property owners for County, School and Municipal Purposes The Tax Collector is responsible for the billing and collection of sewer rent which is a separate line on the tax bill Property tax payments are due on the 1st of February, May, August and November The Borough does not have a grace period You will receive one tax bill each year in July No other bills are sent throughout the year, unless you have an added assessment on your property Any taxes remaining unpaid by the first day of February, May, August and November are subject to interest and penalty per interest resolution adopted by the Mayor and Borough Council Please call our office for the amount of interest due prior to making payments Payments may be mailed with appropriate stub to Princeton Borough Tax Office Sewer rents are based on the property’s prior years water consumption The computation is based on the lower of either four times the winter quarter (the first bill of the prior year) or the total of the four quarters Remote water meters are strongly recommended to insure actual consumption readings every quarter, to monitor flow for undetected leaks in the water system and to accurately control billings Swimming pools and underground sprinkler systems should be metered and billed separately |
