19.33 Prohibited Parking of Vehicles Under Emergency Circumstances
(b) Snow emergencies.
(1) Declaration of snow emergency.
a. Whenever snow has fallen and the accumulation is such that it covers the street or highway, an emergency shall exist and no vehicle shall be parked on any borough streets between 11:00 P.M. and 7:00 A.M.
b. The above parking prohibitions shall remain in effect after the snow has ceased until the streets have been plowed sufficiently and to the extent that parking will not interfere with the normal flow of traffic or impede the passage of fire apparatus.
c. During a snow emergency, as defined in this ordinance, owners, tenants and/or their agents shall be prohibited from plowing snow onto borough streets, if such activity interferes with normal flow of traffic and snow plowing of the streets or results in depositing snow on either a driveway of another, or on a sidewalk. Violators of this provision shall be subject to the penalties set forth in section 1-6 of the Code of the Borough of Princeton, New Jersey. Repeat offenders shall be subject to the penalties set forth for repeat offenders in section 1-6.
(2) Removal of vehicles; cost of removal and storage.
a. Any vehicle parked or standing in violation of section 19-33 shall be deemed a nuisance and a menace to the safe and proper regulation of traffic, and any police officer may provide for the removal of such vehicle. The owner shall pay the reasonable cost of the removal and storage which may result from such removal before regaining possession of the vehicle.
(3) Effectiveness contingent upon erection of signs.
a. The effectiveness of this section is contingent upon signs being erected as required by law.
