|
Borough ordinance 28-16-Removal of snow, ice, grass or weeds-owner required to remove or cover show and ice on sidewalk. The owner of every lot of land abutting upon the public highways of the borough shall remove from the abutting sidewalk, within twelve hours of daylight after the falling or formation thereon, so much of the snow and ice as it is possible to remove and shall apply sand, sawdust, ashes, or some other harmless substance to the portion not removed, so that the same shall be rendered safe for travel, and shall as soon as possible remove the remainder, together with any substance that has been applied to it. Borough ordinance 19-89 states that: Whenever snow has fallen and the accumulation is such that it covers the street or highway, an emergency shall exist and no vehicle shall be parked on any borough streets between 11:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. The above parking prohibitions shall remain in effect after the snow has ceased and until the streets have been plowed sufficiently and to the extent that parking will not interfere with the normal flow of traffic or impede the passage of fire apparatus. During a snow emergency, owners, tenants and or their guests shall be prohibited from plowing snow onto borough streets, if such activity interferes with the normal flow of traffic and snow plowing of streets or results in depositing snow on either a driveway of another or on a sidewalk. Borough ordinance 19-90 states that: Any vehicle parked or standing in violation of this order shall be deemed a nuisance and a menace to the safe and proper regulation of traffic, and any shall be subject to removal. The owner shall pay the reasonable cost of the removal and storage which may result from such removal before regaining possession of the vehicle.
