Borough of Princeton

Redevelopment Project

A major focus of our municipality has been the Borough’s “Princeton Redevelopment Project” located in the center of downtown on Witherspoon Street. The project is adjacent to the Princeton Public Library and features a municipal public plaza, a three-story building that includes residential, restaurant and retail spaces and the Borough’s Spring Street Municipal Parking Garage. Phase I of the project was completed in July of 2005.

Phase 2 is currently complete as of August 2010. Certificates of Occupancy have been issued for all the residential units, and the first floor retail space will also soon receive C of O's. The new 5 story building consists of approximately 5500 sf of retail space on the 1st floor and 53 one and two bedroom residential rental apartments on the upper floors, which include ten moderate income apartments. Construction began in July 2008.
